You will play a key role in assessing the nursing needs of a child from a sick newborn to adolescents who have a variety of care needs.

Responsibilities:

• Strive to maintain the highest standard of patient care at all times by using the nursing process to assess patient’ individual needs, plan care within the overall framework of nursing, implementation and evaluate nursing care
• Carry out and assist with nursing procedures and treatments as required, in accordance with trust policies and guidelines
• Follow the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and other related guidance papers for supporting and sustaining professional practice standards.
• Excellent observation skills when monitoring children for changes in their health – children cannot always communicate how they are feeling.
• Excellent communication skills.
• The ability to work with people from all backgrounds.
• The ability to handle stressful and upsetting situations calmly.
